The East-West Center, an education and research organization established by the US Congress, is currently accepting applications for their 2019 Jefferson Fellowship program, which is open to journalists across the Asia-Pacific region, including the Philippines.

Applications are processed through the US Embassy in the Philippines.

The fellowship will accept between 10 to 12 applicants to participate in a 21-day program that begins in Hawaii and travels to Seoul, Manila, and Sydney.

This year’s theme is “Migration Policy and Public Sentiment,” which will be explored through discussions with pertinent communities, meetings with various officials, among other learning methods.

Those selected will receive a scholarship package worth around $8,745, which includes airfare, lodging, meals, ground transportation, activities, among other expenses.

The program has already produced over 700 fellows.

The application deadline is next week, February 7./WDJ
