Iloilo City was one of 15 localities in the Western Visayas recognized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) for passing their “Good Financial Housekeeping” standards for 2018.
“Iloilo City has been consistent in getting the citation because we have complied by the criteria,” explained Iloilo City DILG head, Atty. Ferdinand Panes.
Formerly known as the “Seal of Good Housekeeping,” the standards refer to compliance by the local government unit with accounting and auditing standards, along with rules and regulations; including unqualified or qualified Commission on Audit opinion of the immediately preceding year, as well as compliance with the full disclosure policy of local budget and finances, bids, and public offerings.
Earlier this week, it was reported Bacolod City also passed the standard./WDJ
