The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) recently held a send-off ceremony for personnel expected to be deployed for the Bacolaodiat Festival, which starts today.

BCPO officer-in-charge, Police Senior Superintendent Henry Biñas, thanked the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office and Philippine Army 303rd Infantry Brigade for providing additional manpower and security for the festival.

The BCPO chief said, as far as the security plans are concerned, everything has been factored in and contingency plans are in place.

Biñas urged the public not to bring any deadly weapons into festival sites and to secure their valuables.

He also appealed for the public to cooperate with police and report any suspicious activity.

Around 1,400 law enforcement personnel will be deployed as part of security for this year’s festival, including anti-crime and rescue volunteer groups./DGB, WDJ
