Aunt claims the victim previously received death threats

Relatives of a deputy station commander who was killed last Saturday denied their kin was involved in illegal drugs.
The victim’s aunt, who asked that her identity be withheld, said Senior Police Officer 4 Oscar Exaltado was the victim and there was “no way he was involved in illegal drugs as he and his family lived a simple life.”
She added, her nephew mentioned receiving death threats.
In a subsequent radio interview yesterday morning, Police Chief Inspector West Edquila, a forensic pathologist for the Negros Occidental provincial crime laboratory, released Exaltado’s autopsy results.
Edquila said they found a total of 17 gunshot wounds on Exaltado’s remains, 16 of which were fatal. Nine gunshot wounds were located in the head and eight across his body, all of which caused by 9mm and .45 caliber ammunition.
He noted, it was also determined the suspects gunned down Exaltado at close-range.
Edquila added, the autopsy report has been submitted to Bacolod City Police Office officer-in-charge, Police Senior Superintendent Henry Biñas, in order to help in the ongoing investigation.
Earlier, Biñas ordered the formation of a special investigation task group to investigate the officer’s murder.
Exaltado, the deputy commander for Police Station 6, was killed by two unidentified gunmen last Saturday while on his way to work.
Police are presently looking at illegal drugs, personal grudges, and job-related issues as possible motives behind the incident.
Cops also believe there may have been at least six people involved in the deputy station commander’s murder./DGB, WDJ
