Seven gun ban violators nabbed in Bacolod City

Based on the latest data from the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) operations and plans unit, a total of seven Commission on Elections (Comelec) gun ban violators have been nabbed in the city.

Acting BCPO operation and plans unit chief, Police Chief Inspector Lester Leada, said, since implementation of the Comelec gun ban last January 13, they have initiated a total of 10 checkpoint and police-initiated operations across the city.

He said they have recovered a total of seven small firearms and two improvised firearms.

Police also confiscated two bladed weapons, with the latest violator apprehended by cops from Police Station 6.

Earlier, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office reported six gun ban violators had been arrested, with the violators hailing from San Carlos City, Talisay City, Murcia, and Isabela./DGB, WDJ
