Principal: Building was requested for demolition

A Ramon Torres Taloc National High School building in Bago City was razed to ground following a fire yesterday morning.

In an interview by RMN-DYHB Bacolod, School Principal Helen Dela Cruz said the building was 39 years old and was used to store items such as broken down chairs and tables.

Dela Cruz said the building was being requested for demolition and electrical repair.

She added, there were no electrical wirings inside and the only electrical connection is used for the outdoor lights.

Based on an initial probe by Bureau of Fire Protection arson investigators, the fire started in the stockroom, located towards the rear of the building, and traveled to a portion of the computer laboratory.

Investigators have yet to determine what caused the blaze but damages are estimated at P1 million./DGB, WDJ
