Miguel Mosquera of Bacolod City pulled off an upset in the main event of last Saturday’s Tiger Black Brawl 2019 at the SMX Convention Center at SM City Bacolod by defeating Brazilian fighter Afonso Celso, Jr.

The 36-year-old Bacolodnon opened the bout with a quick offensive attack before grappling and launching strikes on the Brazilian’s face. While manhandling the heavily-favored Celso, referee Joey Lepiten stopped the match with 2:17 minutes left in the opening round.

“As I said during the pre-match press conference, I will do my best to win this fight and sweep them all – and we did it tonight,” said Mosquera.

In other matches, Rex de Lara of MUMMA defeated Rufino Mante of Legacy Gym Boracay via disqualification and Bacolodnon Victor Torre cruised to an easy submission win over Bingbong Mayormito./ASC, WDJ
