A 26-year-old man was arrested late Sunday evening after he allegedly discharged a firearm at the Manokan Food Park in Barangay Zone-2, Murcia, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the suspect as Roderin Gambalan, a resident of Barangay Minoyan in the said town.

Murcia municipal police said they responded to the area after receiving a report of a man discharging a firearm.

Cops immediately arrested Gambalan when they spotted him carrying a .22 caliber firearm.

They also recovered five live .22 caliber ammunition from the suspect.

Gambalan faces illegal possession of firearms charges and violation of the Commission on Elections gun ban.

He is presently detained at the Murcia Municipal Police Station./DGB, WDJ
