A dead body was reportedly found yesterday by fishermen off the coast of Cauayan in Negros Occidental.

In a radio interview, Cauayan municipal police chief, Police Chief Inspector Edfel Balibadlan, said local fishermen reported finding an unidentified person in waters belonging to the said municipality.

However, Balibadlan said the fishermen failed to recover the remains as they were hampered by foul weather and strong waves.

Authorities have since contacted the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in order to recover and identify the remains.

PCG, meanwhile, has yet to comment if the remains match either of the two Bacolod City fishermen who went missing earlier this month when their boat was rammed by a roll-on/roll-off vessel near Dumangas, Iloilo./DGB, WDJ
