Revelers remaindered of ‘No Smoking’ policy
The Iloilo City Anti-Smoking Task (ICAST) reminded those attending the ongoing Iloilo Dinagyang Festival, especially during the highlights between January 25 and 27, to be mindful of the “No Smoking” policy.
“Smoking is definitely not allowed in public places here,” ICAST Director Iñigo Garingalao affirmed. “Always remember that smoking is bad for your health and we do not want our tourists to remember that there are a lot of smokers in Iloilo City.”
He added, the Philippine National Police have also been tasked to help enforce the policy.
Those caught smoking of vaping will be fined P1,000, along with a possible three days in jail, for their first offense. Penalties go up to P1,500 and a possible five days behind bars on the second offense; and P5,000 and a possible 10 days in jail on the third.
In addition, establishments found in violation will be fined P5,000 on their first offense. Their business permit faces suspension on the second offense and permit revocation on the third./WDJ
