First gun ban violator in Bacolod City charged

The first gun ban violator in Bacolod City has been formally charged before the City Prosecutor’s Office.

The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Hermil June Flores of Barangay Granada, was arrested at a checkpoint manned by Police Station 5 along Abada Road at Hacienda Teresita in the said barangay.

Cops recovered an empty shotgun from the suspect.

When cops questioned Flores as to what he was planning with the weapon, the suspect reportedly claimed he was selling it.

Flores was charged with illegal possession of firearms, as well as violating the Commission on Elections gun ban./DGB, WDJ
