The Department of Tourism-Region VI, in partnership with the Panay Organic Producers Association, held a farm tourism action-planning workshop last week at the Days Hotel Iloilo.

A total of 61 participants from farms and various government agencies gathered for the event, which former Department of Agriculture-Region VI Director Larry P. Nacionales called, “One of the best farm-related workshops that was ever organized for our region.”

The event sought to highlight agriculture’s role in the tourism sector and to craft a regional strategic action plan for farm tourism.

“The visibility and immense support of both the farm owners and local government units in discussions enabled us to achieve workshop objectives,” Nacionales added./WDJ
