Personnel from the Negros Occidental Highway Patrol Group (HPG), City Legal Enforcement Unit, Traffic Management Unit, Land Transportation Office, and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) conducted clearing operations yesterday along Burgos Avenue in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City.
HPG-Negros Occidental chief, Police Senior Inspector Robelito Mariano, said the clearing operations were part of “Task Force: Discipline Zone,” which aims to clear the roads of obstructions.
HPG personnel issued traffic citations to drivers illegally parking along the road, while DPWH removed several structures and road signs which were obstructing traffic along the national highway.
Mariano said drivers of illegally parked vehicles who were not present were issued notices of alarm from the LTO.
He stated, violators must pay fines at the LTO branch in Bacolod City.
Mariano added, a similar operation was conducted in Barangay Sum-ag last Monday, where a total of 93 apprehensions were made against traffic violators./DGB, WDJ
