BSP breaks ground on new Bacolod City branch

Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, alongside Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) officials, broke ground earlier this week on the central bank’s new branch in the city’s reclamation area.

“This is quite awesome for us,” said the mayor. “We find this very meaningful and significant.”

Also present for the event were Monetary Board members V. Bruce Tolentino and Felipe Medalla. The latter read a message from BSP Governor Nelson Espenilla, Jr., saying, “Bacolod City has consistently seen vigorous economic expansion, expanding infrastructure development, and a high influx of investments.”

A time capsule was also buried during the ceremony
