Three treasure hunters were reportedly trapped Wednesday night in Barangay Boloc-boloc, Sibulan, located in Negros Oriental, after the tunnel they were digging caved in.

Police identified the three as Feliciano Encilay, Sr., Algie Javier, and Bobby Baldado.

Another treasure hunter, Mauro Alforque, managed to escape.

Based on a report provided by Sibulan municipal police, after the tunnel’s sudden collapse, emergency services rushed to the area to rescue the trapped miners, who were believed to be buried around 30 feet below the ground.

As of 6:30 p.m. last night, one of the trapped miners, whom they have not yet identified, was pulled out but has since passed away./DGB, WDJ
