Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. yesterday challenged provincial government employees to surpass their performance last year.
In his speech during the flag ceremony at the Provincial Capitol, the governor wished everyone a prosperous new year and called for everyone to thank God for “all the successes experienced by the province in 2018.”
Marañon encouraged everyone to have a collective New Year’s resolution to “surpass or improve their past records.”
“Maybe we can add more awards for this year, such as the Seal of Good Governance,” he said.
The governor said there is so much to do in order to solve the problems and challenges of the province, country, and world.
“If we have the resolve to improve, we can achieve any challenge,” he stated.
Marañon also congratulated the provincial employees for a “job well done” in 2018 and for “doing the extra mile.”
Last year, in addition to 14th month pay, provincial government employees received numerous bonuses including P50,000 in the form of cash incentive, P5,000 in the Collective Negotiation Agreement bonus, P25,000 as “additional incentives benefits for exemplary services,” and another P5,000 in Performance Enhancement Incentives./DGB, WDJ
