Filipino depravity among the world’s top stories last year

“…Woe to the sinful nation, a people whose guilt is great, a brood of evildoers, children given to corruption! They have forsaken the Lord; they have spurned the Holy One of Israel and turned their backs on him…. (That is why) your country is desolate, your cities burned with fire; your fields are being stripped by foreigners right before you, laid waste as when overthrown by strangers…” –Isaiah 1:4, 7

While the Philippines was earning accolades and honored with the Miss Universe crown (along with other international beauty titles), the country was also marked by news of depravity committed by citizens. The worst of which was Quezon City’s Commonwealth Avenue being named among the “21 of the World’s Most Dangerous Roads,” a list compiled by online travel site Topix Passport.

Here’s their description of the road: “Unlike some of the roads on this list, Commonwealth Avenue is NOT a mountain pass. It’s a wide road – at points up to EIGHTEEN LANES wide – in Quezon City, Philippines. It’s a pretty flat journey that’s paved – so why is it so treacherous?”

Why is Commonwealth Avenue considered one of the world’s most treacherous? “There is a ton of traffic and very little regulation or enforcement of traffic law,” the site explained. “[This has led] to somewhere around three to five accidents per day on just an eight mile (about 12 kilometers) stretch of the road.”

“The road also lacks streetlights and floods often during the rainy season – not great,” the writer added.

Comparing Commonwealth Avenue to the other 20 on the list, there is no denying its “earned” spot on the list. A shame for the Philippines.

The article pointed out the glaring lack of discipline among Filipino drivers.

While there are even more vehicles taking to the streets in other countries, the Philippines is known for slow-moving and accident-prone traffic, a lack of courtesy, and ill-mannered motorists.

This is also clearly indicative of the corruption that rules the nation.

Commonwealth Avenue runs through Metro Manila, where the capital is located, yet officials are unable to transform it into a safe and efficient thoroughfare? Government officials who manage roads in such disarray can be described as a useless imbecile.

These said officials are curses sent by God. The Philippines is suffering with incompetent and ineffective government officials because Christians have strayed from God. Filipino faith in God has become spurious and His curses are being heaped upon us – particularly through nincompoop “leaders.”

If we all go back to God right away, all will surely change!
