The Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS), which is designed to provide faster and convenient business permit registration and registration, began yesterday at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC).
According to Bacolod City Permits and Licensing Division (PLD) division head Stela Rose Rayos, the event will end on January 20.
“We have simplified the processing of business permits since all the taxpayers have to present is their 2018 business permit and barangay business clearance,” she explained.
The PLD official noted, the system is now fully automated, which has made the procedure easier.
Meanwhile, Executive Assistant Samuel Montoyo, Sr. explained barangays have until today to set up at the event in order to provide applicants with barangay business clearances.
The city official cited RA 11032, or the Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007, which he said requires participation by barangays in the said program.
“Barangay officials must comply the law or else they will be facing complaint,” Montoyo stressed. “I will be filing complaints [with] the Department of Interior and Local Government, Civil Service Commission, and Office of the President against barangay officials who will fail to participate.”
As of yesterday, he said 23 out of the city’s 61 barangays were currently taking part in BOSS./DGB, WDJ
