The Alliance of Travel Tourism and Hospitality MICE (Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conventions, Exhibitions and Events) Movers (ATTHoMM) recently honored 20 contributors to the local travel industry.
Among the award recipients included the SMX Convention Center as SM City Bacolod; The Ruins; Bugana Beach and Dive Resort; Grab (GrabTaxi Holdings Pte. Ltd.); Merzci Pasalubong; Lakawon Island Resorts and Spa; Vallacar Transit Incorporated; Southwest Travel and Tours; Travel and Marketing Exports Corporation; Campuestohan Highland Resort; FastCat (Archipelago Philippine Ferries Corporation); Solina Beach and Nature Resort; La Carmela De Boracay Hotel; Cebu Pacific; and Megaworld Corporation, along with their properties the Richmonde Hotel Iloilo and Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo.
Three individuals were also recognized, Oscar Bascon; Jerry Sy; and Department of Tourism-Region VI director, Atty. Helen J. Catalbas.
In addition, Catalbas administered the oath of office for the ATTHoMM founders including myself as founding chairman; JB Ongsingco as vice chairman; Elsie L. Gonzaga – secretary-general; Anna Liza F. Lacson – logistic director; Jo-ann Y. Yoshida – special affairs director; and founding members Raymund Javellana, Marlon Navarro, Mini Javellana-Jimenez, and Jennylind Cordero.
As founding chairman, I explained, members were selected based on their passion, advocacy, and dedication to travel and tourism. They also do not represent any organization or entity within an organization.
Meanwhile, Philippine Sports Tourism Forum and Awards founder Charles Lim inducted officers of the Sports Communicators Organization of the Philippines-Bacolod and Archipelago Philippine Ferries Corporation Executive Vice President-Treasurer Mary Ann I. Pastrana addressed the event./WDJ
