The Bacolod City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) said they are prepared for Tropical Depression “Usman,” which is expected to make landfall in parts of the Western Visayas.

CDRRMO officer-in-charge Dondon Parandas said, following an emergency meeting with response clusters and volunteer rescue groups, they have informed all barangay officials and advised them of the storm’s possible threats and precautionary measures.

Parandas said he is hoping barangays in the city will report zero casualties.

He added, CDRRMO has been placed on ‘blue alert’ status, which signals the second stage of a warning, wherein emergency preparations begin; and rescue personnel were ordered to check-in and inform them of their available equipment in case of a rescue operation.

The Department of Social Services and Development was also placed on standby and were ordered to “pre-position” all relief supplies./DGB, WDJ
