A 64-year-old man was killed early Monday morning after unidentified robbers burglarized his home at Purok Maligaya in Barangay Napoles, Bago City.
Police identified the fatality as Jimmy Erespe.
Based on investigations by Bago City police, three unidentified men broke into the home around 1:30 a.m. by destroying the main door’s padlock.
Once inside, the suspects took cash amounting to P13,500.
Erespe’s wife, Rea, stated, one of the suspects was not content with the money and started making demands. She said her husband left the room to retrieve more cash, after which she heard a gunshot.
The suspects immediately fled after the incident, while the husband was rushed to the city’s district hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival due to a gunshot wound to the head.
Bago City police are currently investigating the incident and currently have several persons of interest./DGB, WDJ
