MBCCI: TRAIN Law made 2018 a ‘challenging’ year
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga
The Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI) is optimistic 2019 will be a positive year for business in the city and Negros Occidental.
MBCCI President Frank Carbon said they are hoping for the continued entry of investments, which boosts the local economy and provides for improved living conditions.
Carbon said local government officials should have more confidence in local businessmen by implementing “true peace and security” by resolving the criminal incidents from last year.
He added, 2018 was a “challenging year” due to the implementation of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion Law, contributing to higher taxes on commodities and resulting in higher prices./DGB, WDJ
