The staff of Watchmen Daily Journal celebrated Christmas this year with a feast at Yakimix, an all-you-can-eat establishment at SM City Bacolod that offers customers both a variety of freshly-prepared dishes along with food that can be cooked right at the table. Yakimix also has a location at City Time Square in Iloilo City’s Mandurriao district.
Once seated, guests are invited to partake in the massive food selection that stretches across an entire side of the restaurant.
Starting from the back portion of the line, there is an assortment of dim sum, along with a Japanese section with a variety of sushi and tempura. Directly across from it is the “raw food.” Beef, chicken, pork, even duck – along with seafood and vegetables – are all available for grilling once back at the table.
The next section of the buffet is packed with hot foods, ranging from local Filipino dishes, including lechon kawali, and international dishes, from quesadillas to japchae.
The other side offers an array of drink selections; salad bar; and a dessert counter, including a make-your-own halo-halo.
The staff enjoyed just about everything available and ended a sumptuous lunch with a raffle and gift exchanges.
Full stomachs and warm wishes at Yakimix contributed to a happy Christmas celebration./WDJ
