The remains of the roll-on/roll-off ferry passenger who went missing last December 24 were recovered yesterday morning off the coast of Bago City.

The victim, 38-year-old Rene Quilantang of Isabela, Negros Occidental, allegedly jumped off the LCT Archangels Navistar while enroute to the Bredco Port in Bacolod City.

Based on a report by the Bago City Police Station, Quilantang’s remains were recovered at a pipeline by a local fisherman.

The fisherman ferried the remains to Barangay Punta Taytay in Bacolod City, where he was eventually handed over to Bago City police.

Quilantang’s wife, Nida, positively identify the remains based on the jersey he was wearing.

She said her husband was in Capiz to visit relatives and they were expecting him home in Isabela on Monday./DGB, WDJ
