Travel company Agoda, which earlier named two hotels in Dumaguete City and two in Boracay among this year’s Agoda Gold Circle Award recipients, recently placed Boracay, the popular Aklan resort destination, among the top 10 destinations for Filipinos to ring in the new year.

Based on booking data, Boracay was one of five domestic destinations for New Year’s Eve destinations, coming in eighth overall. Other locales within the Philippines to make the top 10 included Manila, Cebu City, Baguio City, and Tagaytay City.

The top international destination for Filipinos was Tokyo.

Last month, Agoda included Bacolod City’s Bantug Lake Ranch as one of the country’s “gastronomic destinations for foodies.”

The seven-hectare property in Barangay Alangilan features a lake where visitors can go fishing or boating; a ranch for horseback riding, along with feeding peacocks and turkeys; swimming pool; restaurant; and picnic area./WDJ
