At least five people were killed yesterday morning after the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOrPPO) conducted anti-crime operations.
Police identified the fatalities as Jimmy Revilla, Reneboy Fat, Jun Cubol, Demetrio Fat, and Jesus Isugan.
NOrPPO director, Police Senior Superintendent Raul Tacaca, said the operation was conducted in cooperation with the Armed Forces of the Philippines in order to serve around 113 search warrants, 82 of which were for Guihulngan City residents on charges of illegal possession of firearms, ammunition, and explosives.
The said operations are part of the Philippine National Police Enhanced Managing Police Operation.
Tacaca noted, the five slain suspects fought back against police officers. Three of which are presently interred at the Guihulngan City Police Station.
He added, another operation in Dumaguete City resulted in the seizure of 300 grams worth of illegal drugs valued at P2 million.
