Four Metro Bacolod District Jail (MBDJ) inmates were released from the Barangay Handumanan facility on Christmas Eve.

MBDJ-Handumanan warden, Jail Senior Inspector Norberto Miciano, said the four were released for good behavior following an evaluation.

He said there are also four more inmates set for release before New Year’s Day celebrations.

Under RA 10592, or the Good Conduct Time Allowance, inmates may be released on good behavior and if they did not break any regulations while undergoing rehabilitation.

Meanwhile, Miciano said the facility is on heightened alert for the remainder of the holiday season as inmate families are allowed to visit after Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-Region 6 director, Jail Senior Superintendent Joel Superficial, approved an “Open Dalaw” for the holidays./DGB, WDJ
