After three terrorists stormed the Libyan Foreign Ministry earlier this week, resulting in three deaths and 18 injuries as of latest reports, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) released a statement yesterday advising overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) based in Libya to exercise caution.

The agency published a release calling on Filipinos in the country to “remain vigilant and avoid unnecessary movement.”

According to Philippine Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Mardomel Melicor, there are no Filipinos among the casualties.

ISIS has since claimed responsibility for the attack.

DFA issued a similar advisory for OFWs in Libya earlier this year after six suicide bombers conducted an attack.

According to DFA, there are over 2,000 Filipinos, along with their dependents, residing in the Tripoli, the nation’s capital./WDJ
