The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO), led by Police Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil, Jr., declared “no indiscriminate firing” this yuletide season.
Philippine National Police (PNP) Director-General Oscar Albayalde refrained from gun-muzzling this year, stating, he is confident PNP members are responsible enough not to fire their guns.
PNP personnel who fire their guns indiscriminately face appropriate charges and possible dismissal from the service.
“Negros Occidental police are well aware of this information and [have] been diligent in following orders from the higher office,” Castil added.
He also appealed for the public to be vigilant and watchful, and to report any cases involving the use of firearms and to continue their support of PNP programs and activities in maintaining peace and order in the province./DGB, WDJ
