The Iloilo City government recently designated specific areas in the city for the sale and purchase of firecrackers and other pyrotechnics.

According to Executive order 119, issued by Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III, the corner of Circumferential Road 1 and Jocson Street; C1 corner at Iloilo East Coast-Capiz, along Ondoy’s Sugbahan; and Muelle Loney Street along riverside, in front of the Muelle Loney Statue are the designated areas.

The order also specified stalls should be one-meter apart from each other with a dimension of two-meter by four-meter, an eight-meter floor area, and must have a double-wall made of hardiflex for the interior and GI sheet for exterior and roof.

In addition, “no testing” and “no smoking” signage must be posted and only LED lights are permitted for used within the premises./WDJ
