Human rights lawyer and opposition senatorial candidate Jose Manuel ‘Chel’ Diokno said, if elected in the upcoming 2019 midterm elections, he would represent all sectors from Negros.
Diokno, who recently held a press conference at the Negros Press Club in Bacolod City, said the rising prices of commodities and continued corruption by politicians are among the injustices faced by Filipinos.
He noted, if elected, his primary focus will be human rights and fixing the country’s justice system.
Diokno also made note of the burial of former President Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani, which occurred over two years ago, and called it an “injustice.”
The senatorial aspirant added, he is following in the footsteps of his father, former Senator Jose ‘Pepe’ Diokno, who also served as an opposition senator during his tenure in office./DGB, WDJ
