Workers earlier tested positive during random drug testing

Acting Provincial Administrator, Dr. Lucille Gelvolea, yesterday confirmed the two provincial government employees who tested positive for drugs have been ordered to undergo confirmatory testing.
She said the Human Resources Office required the testing be administered at a laboratory accredited by the Department of Health (DOH).
The provincial official added, based on the results, they will wait on recommendations by the DOH on what type of rehabilitation would be appropriate.
The two employees tested positive during a random drug testing last October.
Gelvolea said they were not suspended, citing “humanitarian consideration,” but were “required to go on leave for a maximum of six months.”
“When the results came out, it served as a warning to other employees who [were] using illegal drugs,” she added./DGB, WDJ
