The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) published a safety advisory on Christmas decorations on social media yesterday, specifically, Christmas lights.

They suggested checking for any damage to Christmas lights, including exposed wires, and to avoid usage if such defects are present.

The agency also made note of ensuring lights are unplugged if not in use and to turn off decorations if they have been in operation for a long period of time or if one plans on being away from home.

Meanwhile, PIA appealed for consumers to ensure all products they use are approved by the Department of Trade and Industry./WDJ
