A woman was arrested last Wednesday, December 12, after she allegedly stole a mobile phone along Rosario Street in Barangay 15, Bacolod City.

Police identified the victim as 23-year-old Loreto Genzola, a resident of Barangay Villamonte of the said city. The suspect, meanwhile, was identified as 20-year-old Reyan Padilla, a resident of Barangay Banago also of the said city.

According to Genzola’s testimony to Police Station 1 (PS1) investigators, he noticed Padilla’s hand reaching towards his pockets. Upon checking, his P10,000 mobile phone was already missing.

Padilla, meanwhile, tried to flee the area but was chased down by Genzola’s cousin, ultimately leading to her arrest.

Police recovered the victim’s mobile phone from her possession.

Padilla is currently detained at PS1 on theft charges./DGB, WDJ
