Bacolod City Market Coordinating Task Force head, Executive Assistant Ernesto Pineda, recently ordered the city’s 61 barangay captains to designate fireworks display areas within their respective jurisdictions ahead of holiday celebrations.
According to Pineda, starting December 17, barangay captains must submit their recommendations as they will be subject to inspection by the Bureau of Fire Protection, who will then declare if the recommended area is suitable for fireworks displays.
Community fireworks display areas may include basketball courts or any open vacant lots.
The number of recommended fireworks display areas also depends on barangay officials.
He added, if a barangay captain fails to submit their recommendation, fireworks displays will not be permitted within that community./DGB, WDJ
