Opening ceremonies commence tomorrow

The 2018 Palarong Panlalawigan opens tomorrow, December 16, at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City. Opening ceremonies are scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.
Athletes will be representing designated areas. Area 1 is composed of San Carlos City, Escalante City, Calatrava, and Toboso; Area 2 is composed of Sagay City, Cadiz City, and Manapla; Area 3 is composed of Victorias City, Silay City, Talisay City, EB Magalona, and Murcia; Area 4 is composed of Bago City, La Carlota City, Pulupandan, Valladolid, San Enrique, and Pontevedra; Area 5 is composed of Himamaylan City, Moises Padilla, La Castellana, Isabela, Hinigaran, and Binalbagan; Area 6 is composed of Kabankalan City, Sipalay City, Cauayan, Candoni, Hinoba-an, and Ilog; Area 7 is composed of Bacolod City; Area 8 is composed of the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association athletes; Area 9 is composed of Negros Occidental High School (NOHS) athletes; and Area 10 is composed of Association of Negros Occidental Private Schools and School Administrators Inc. athletes.
Participants will be competing in various sports including arnis, athletics, badminton, basketball, boxing, chess, football, gymnastics, sepak takraw, sipa, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, among others.
Meanwhile, prior to the opening ceremonies, a solidarity meeting will be held for coaches and technical officials beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the NOHS Quadrangle./JSG, WDJ
