The Iloilo City Business Permits and Licensing Division (BPLD) recently revealed a total of 2,172 businesses opened in the city between January and December 7 this year.
BPLD head Norman Tabud said their initial target for the year was 2,000. He believes the city’s infrastructure and reputation are attracted investors to the city.
“Iloilo City is already known as a business hub in the Western Visayas,” he explained. “We have put in place infrastructure, roads were widened, and we maintain the peace and order in our city.”
In addition to new businesses, 13,369 businesses also renewed their permits this year./WDJ
