P70M earmarked for Hinoba-an Seaport
The Negros Occidental Provincial Development Council (PDC) recently approved P457.3 million worth of projects following their regular meeting at the Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City.
Among the projects to be funded include P135 million towards the establishment of the Negros First Global Institute; P70 million for the construction of the Hinoba-an Seaport; P80 million for creating cold chains, or temperature-controlled supply chain involving refrigerated production, storage, and distribution activities; P43.3 million for on-farm mechanization; P50 million to construct an NFA Rice Trading Operation Center; among other expenses.
Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. called economic diversification the “primary aim” of the provincial government.
Also in attendance were various local mayors, non-government organizations, national government agencies, city and municipal planning coordinators, among others./WDJ
