A grenade was allegedly tossed at a home owned by Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) President Dwight Carbon yesterday morning at the Canlaon View Subdivision in Barangay Blumentritt, Murcia, Negros Occidental..
Murcia municipal police chief, Police Chief Inspector Roberto Indiape, Jr., said Carbon’s household helper, Arsenia Abong, was sweeping the front area of the residence when she discovered the unexploded grenade on the ground.
She immediately contacted police of the find.
Indiape said, after initial talks with Carbon, he said the Ceneco chief did not receive any threats prior to the incident.
He added, they are closely investigating the incident in order to identify the culprits.
As of press time, police have cordoned the area where the device was found as they await assistance from explosive ordnance disposal units./DGB, WDJ
