An early morning earthquake struck waters off the coast of Siaton, Negros Oriental yesterday measuring 2.3 in magnitude.
According to a Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology bulletin, there were no reported damages as a result of the incident, nor were there any anticipated aftershocks.
Earthquakes ranging between 1.0 and 3.0 in magnitude are often classified as a Level 1 on the Mercalli Intensity Scale, where very few even feel the tremor.
