At least one person is confirmed dead, while another is reported to be in critical condition, after a motorcycle collided with a jeepney early yesterday morning in front of Police Station 6 (PS6) in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City.

Police identified the fatality as Lindsay Labiga, a resident of Celine Homes, Barangay Estefania of the said city; while the injured was identified as Aran Aungon, a resident of Barangay Guintubhan in Isabela, Negros Occidental.

PS6 commander, Police Senior Inspector Wilfredo Benoman, Jr., said Labiga and Aungon were travelling north when they collided with a westbound jeepney driven by Edgardo Robles.

Upon hearing of the crash, PS6 personnel immediately called in the city’s emergency services.

Both victims were rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment, although Labiga was declared dead on arrival by hospital staff.

The force of the impact reportedly severed Aungon’s right foot.
