Envoy expresses interest in local organic advocacy

Following yesterday’s meeting between Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. and Belgian Ambassador to the Philippines Michel Goffin at the Provincial Capitol, the latter expressed interest in partnering with the province to focus on organic advocacy and providing work opportunities for skilled workers.

The 13th Negros Island Organic Farmers’ Festival recently took place at the Provincial Capitol. During this year’s opening rites, the governor credited the annual event for starting the “organic movement.”

According to a release from the provincial government, the ambassador also said he was “impressed” by the environmental conservation effort made in the province.

The visit was Goffin’s first time in Negros Occidental./WDJ
