Casela: These incidents paint an unfavorable picture of Bredco

In response to the December 4 death of worker whose body was found inside a warehouse in the Bacolod City reclamation area, Bacolod Real Estate Development Corporation (Bredco) management said they have no “operational jurisdiction” over the incident.
“It’s always ‘generally speaking of Bredco’ whenever there are incidents like this,” explained Bredco Port officer-in-charge Romeo Casela. “It paints a picture which is not favorable for Bredco.”
“There are several privately-owned warehouses at the reclamation area,” he added. “I just want to emphasize that it’s not happening in Bredco Port as far as the new management is concerned.”
Last Tuesday, the body of 50-year-old Richard Gantalao, a resident of Barangay Carol-an in Kabankalan City, was found around 10:30 p.m. inside the Harry Warehouse, where he was employed.
There was a reported commotion that evening as he had been drinking inside the warehouse with co-workers, identified as Antonio Rivera and Ronel Medes. Gantalao was allegedly struck by stones and other hard objects, which contributed to his passing./DGB, WDJ
