The Bacolod City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) will intensify fire safety inspections on various establishments throughout the holiday season.

City Fire Marshall, Fire Chief Inspector Publio Ploteña, said the activity is conducted annually as December is recognized as “Holiday fire hazard month.”

Among the establishments to be inspected include those selling electronic Christmas decorations, firecrackers, and pyrotechnics.

He stated, local BFP will also conduct information drives to inform the public on how to avoid fires during the holiday season.

Ploteña reiterated his appeal for the public to buy “quality electronic Christmas decorations” and make sure it passed before the Department of Trade Industry and has import commodity clearance markings./DGB, WDJ
