The Savoy Hotel Manila is hosting the Sports Tourism Awards tonight, where at least a dozen awards will be given out to various event organizers, hotels, airlines, government agencies, sports associations, destinations, corporate sponsors, and charities in recognition of their efforts in promoting tourism through sports.

“Once again, the awardees are of par excellence and this event is to honor them for their efforts and professionalism in creating and hosting the [sporting] events [that] have encouraged more visitors, locally and from overseas, to participate,” said Philippine Sports Tourism Awards and Sports Tourism Forum chairman Charles Lim.

The awards include Organizer of the Year, Event of the Year, Destination Marketing of the Year, Charity Event of the Year, among other categories.

This year’s awards have been expanded to include Airline of the Year and Hotel of the Year./WDJ
