The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) recently confirmed Bacolod City Barangay 16 Captain Nelson Ligaya, Jr., who was recently shot dead by four riding-in-tandem suspects, was not on their list of suspected drug personalities.

In a radio interview yesterday, PDEA-Region VI (PDEA-6) spokesperson David Garcia said, back in 2016, when President Rodrigo Duterte unveiled his list of politicians and cops believed to be involved with illegal drugs, Ligaya’s name did not appear on the list.

He said, if Ligaya was listed with the provincial office, his name would still appear with the regional office.

Garcia added, Duterte’s earlier claims surrounding a Bacolod City barangay captain involved with illegal drugs are still subject for validation./DGB, WDJ
