P2.52B Bacolod City budget approved

The P2.52 billion Bacolod City General Fund Budget for 2019 was approved during the Sangguniang Panlungsod regular session earlier this week.

A statement released by the Bacolod City government reiterated comments by Bacolod City Councilor Caesar Distrito, who chairs the SP Committee on Appropriations and Finance, noting, next year’s budget is higher than the previous budget by P270 million.

The release also restated, over half of the budget, P1.33 billion, is allocated for maintenance and other operating expenses; while another P660 million is allotted for personnel services and P252 million for the city’s development fund.

Among local projects noted in the budget include P5 million for the city’s sports program, P5 million for “miscellaneous” public school fees, P2 million for a public WiFi project, among others./WDJ
