The Christmas season can already be felt and despite the country’s economic conditions, we still celebrate Christmas in our own ways. A tradition handed down by ancestors, the annual “Simbang Gabi,” in a predominantly Roman Catholic country, is a popular occasion which is necessary to ensure Christmas is complete.
Last week, Globe Telecom hosted Cirque Du Globe, a carnival-themed party.
I happened to receive an invitation and it was my first time participating in a costume party, which surprised some of my broadcast colleagues.
Bacolod City media practitioners enjoyed a fun-filled evening with games and laughter; along with superb prizes – it made for a very Merry Christmas.
The event was the company’s way of showing appreciation for what the media had done for them (unlike their competitor).

My good friend, Engr. Joshua Hilado, recently celebrated the christening and birthday of two grandchildren at the L’Fisher Hotel.
As Christians, a christening is one of the most important events. Beyond a ceremony dedicating a child to God, it also recognizes the presence of God in our lives – we truly cannot do anything without him.
Welcome to the Christian world Mara Hilado-Herbilla and Happy Birthday Maggie Hilado-Herbilla! Congratulations to the proud parents Valerie Hilado-Herbilla and Franco Herbilla, and my friend and his wife, Madame Susan Hilado./WDJ
