After their 2-1 loss in the first leg of their 2018 AFF Suzuki Cup semifinal against the Vietnamese national football team last Sunday at the Panaad Stadium, the coach for the Philippine national football team held out hope for the return leg, which takes place tomorrow at the Mỹ Đình National Stadium in Hanoi, Vietnam.

“If we want to beat [Vietnam], we have to get up and fight,” said Azkals coach Sven-Göran Eriksson. “We can still pull a surprise win.”

He also lauded the players for their performance in the first leg, saying, “Our players played beyond expectation.”/JSG, WDJ
