A memorandum of agreement was recently signed between the Negros Occidental provincial government and Japan’s Miyakonojo Higashi High School granting three-year scholarships to 10 Negrense students.

This latest group is the second batch of students taking part in the program.

The agreement was signed last Friday between Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr.; Negros Occidental Scholarship Program Division head Karen Dinsay; and representatives from the school, Chairman Yutaka Shimizu and Vice Chairman Brian Wee.

The governor challenged the latest batch to “surpass” their predecessors.

The students are expected to begin training at the Organization for Industrial, Spiritual, and Cultural Advancement Training Center in Bago City on December 17./WDJ
